One recurring lesson in my life has been to keep on going, to never give up, to go after my goals with unwavering conviction, to believe that I can have everything I want.
And I try to instil this in my clients. One client this week had a challenging week, she had gained 2 pounds (after already losing 21 pounds) She said, " I thought that you were going to get mad at me, like my last weight loss coach."
Say What?!
No, I never get angry with my clients. We are usually our own worst critic, we are hard enough on ourselves. My goal is to encourage my clients to keep on going, to hold them accountable, to focus on their wins, to believe in themselves. To believe that they can achieve their goals.
I think it's important to keep your goal first and foremost in front of you, to use all your senses, what will it look like, sound like and especially feel like... What is your definition of success? Write it down, read it every day, know that you are on your way there.
And then go after those goals with unwavering determination. With conviction.
If your goal is to lose weight, you need to be constantly asking yourself, what would a healthy person do? How can you become, embody, act like, live like that healthy person? Let it become who you are.
Most of you know my story of struggling with shyness, literally decades of struggle to overcome my low self worth. But slowly I broke through, persevered, pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Travelled around the world searching for answers on a solo spiritual journey for a year and a half. I got out of being stuck in a waitressing job, becoming a yoga teacher, and now a naturopath, loving what I do.
I am still going after my goals in a big way. I want my book to be published and successful, to help spread the word about eating right for your body type around the world. I want to transform the lives of as many people as possible, help people learn what it really entails to eat a healthy diet. The best is yet to come.
Here's an excerpt from the first draft of my book.
Optimal health and emotional well-being is not a perfect state that you strive for and arrive at. It’s a zone that you move in and out of, it’s a goal post you keep in mind to encourage yourself to make the right food choices, to do the inner work, knowing that life is happier, easier, better when you work on yourself, rather than waiting for outside circumstances to dictate your
happiness.
