I've long struggled with sweet cravings!
I'll never forget inviting a girlfriend over for lunch and making some coconut macaroons. Fresh out of the oven they were heavenly! Golden crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Sweetened with maple syrup, so pretty healthy...
We had a few after our lunch and I gave her some to take home and then... I started eating more. And I couldn't stop! I ate all the rest and I felt sick.
Has that ever happened to you? I felt horrible and I knew that I couldn't bake again unless I was taking the desert to a potluck or a friend's for dinner.
I keep my homemade power bars on hand and I'm fine with those, and by eating right for my body type my sweet cravings are under control.
If you have strong cravings, I think it makes sense to keep that kind of food out of the house if possible.
