What if we treated disease another way...
|
Welcome to all of the new subscribers!
It was a beautiful weekend in Montreal, however, on Saturday I was inside all day, at a conference by Steven Horne, one of America's top herbalist's! The subject... Traditional Chinese Medicine, fascinating!!
Steven said,
"For over 2500 years in China, they have been healing people with natural herbs and remedies and documenting and categorizing the results. This seems a lot more significant than a 6 week, double blind study, done with a placebo and funded by a pharmaceutical company, proving that their drug is going to work."
Yes, of course modern medicine is needed and saves and prolongs lives, However: - What if, we begin by treating the person instead of the disease?
- What if, we focus on positive thinking and on what you want, rather than focusing on the disease or ailment?
- What if, instead of targeting relieving the symptoms, we target what those symptoms are telling us about which body systems are weak and
unbalanced. What lifestyle choices are being made, what systems are out of balance?
- What if, we focus on nourishing, balancing and rebuilding, to bring about a better state of health?
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM:
Life is energy and disease is a partial loss of that life
energy. Anything we do to balance that energy in the body, is good. Balance is the key to health and TCM is based on prevention.

What You Can Do To Counteract Your Genetic Disposition
|
Yes, we are all born with an inherent genetic makeup. However, I have always firmly believed that we can do so much to ensure, we won't succumb to the same ailments our parents or family have, by changing our diet and lifestyle.
- Get adequate sleep
- Exercise
- Drink enough water
- Better manage your stress
- Eat a balanced diet of whole fresh foods in their most natural state
- Use herbs and plants to nourish and build the body
- Heal past emotional trauma
Case in point, I am a clone of my mother's body (and grateful for it!) Exact same height, same weight, body type, bone structure, bunions, jaw structure, etc. My mother suffered with tachycardia and arrhythmia in her 50's and onward. I may have a predisposition to that. But, because my lifestyle choices are so different, I doubt that it will ever be an issue for me. - I get in a lot of
cardio vascular exercise - strengthen the heart and cardio vascular system
- I eat very differently - she ate relatively healthy for her time
- I eat next to no sugar - weakens the heart and cardio vascular system
- I drink less alcohol - same as sugar
- I take supplements and vitamins
daily
- I continue to work on healing myself emotionally and spiritually
According to TCM the body can be no stronger than it's weakest system. Identify it, heal it and the whole body gets better!
In China the pharmacist will give you a bag of specific plants and herbs, which you boil
and drink, not so pleasant! Nature's Sunshine, the high quality vitamin and supplement company I use for my clients, is unique. It has a vast array of these Traditional Chinese Medicine formulas in capsules, that incredibly well!
