3 tips to stop night time snacking

Hello
Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer my survey!

One of your biggest struggles is snacking at night. So here are my top 3 tips to help you stop eating after dinner.
1. Eat a full meal with vegetables, protein and carbs at lunch and at dinner
You don't need a lot of carbs, 1/2 cup is perfect, however, you do need to include them at lunch and at dinner, along with protein and lots of vegetables. So many people come to see me for weight loss and they are avoiding carbs. Yes, you need to avoid poor quality carbs, white bread, white pasta, white rice, etc. But, by filling up on the good carbs listed above you will feel satisfied for a long time, which will keep you from reaching for unhealthy snacks in between meals.

Don't make the mistake of having a really light lunch, you will be hungry later!

This is a crucial thing that most people aren't doing.
2. Eat a little dried fruit after dinner
Are you used to having desert after dinner and finding it really hard to let go of that habit? Try replacing it with some dried fruit, until you are able to let go of it completely.

Take out a small portion of raisins, or apricots or dates, or even prunes if you need to be more regular and have that as a snack. Go for organic, as raisins are high in pesticides. Dried apricots should be brown. Bright orange dried apricots have been treated with sulfites.

This is what I did for a while, when I was working on getting over of my sweet cravings, and it worked! After a while the need for sweets after dinner went away completely, as I learned to eat right for my body type

3. Get a hug or find something else to do
Most of my Gonad Body types (or pear body types) think that they feel hungry at night, but what they are really hungry for is some affection! So go cuddle up with someone special, get some hugs and loving, or show yourself some self care/ self love, by pampering yourself with a bubble bath, putting on your favorite music, reading your favorite book or magazine, taking a walk.

The Adrenal body types, tend to interiorize their stress, often without even realizing it. They might tend to eat when feeling stressed at night. It is so beneficial for them to do everything that they can, to learn how to better manage stress. Yoga, meditation, deep abdominal breathing. Using some of the suggestions above... Try using essential oils, journaling, spend time with pets, getting into nature, etc.
