How to Manage Anxiety Naturally -Talk at the Yellow Umbrella Wellness Center
Hello
There was a great video on Facebook a  few years ago, asking people if they ate gluten free, and when they said yes, asking them what gluten was, and not one of them could answer it!

Gluten is the protein in wheat and related grains.

Most people think that they need to avoid gluten. Once again there is so much conflicting information out there. With books like Wheat Belly and Grain Brain, it's confusing, and most people are avoiding carbs altogether. But you definitely don't have to!
First bike ride of the season today!
You should only avoid gluten if.... you have celiac disease!
If you are highly sensitive or intolerant to gluten or if you have celiac disease of course you have to avoid it. So yes, go Gluten free, but beware, tons of store bought gluten free products are very high in sugar! You are best to make everything you can from scratch.

Otherwise you don't have to avoid it BUT, you should avoid wheat!

The book called wheat belly is true, wheat does cause bloating.

Why is it best to avoid wheat? Because wheat has been hybridized, modified, manipulated and transformed.  Almost all of the wheat eaten today is high-yield dwarf wheat, which was developed by cross-breeding and crude genetic manipulation around the year 1960. It used to be produced once a year and now it is produced twice a year. And before it is harvested, it is doused in a lot of pesticides.
Replace wheat with kamut, spelt, buckwheat, etc.
It is simple to replace the wheat in bread, pasta and cereal with these much healthier grain choices.

Kamut and Spelt are healthy ancient grains that are ancestors of wheat, that have not been modified. They contain more protein, fiber, healthy fats, zinc, iron and magnesium!

Buckwheat is a powerful grain that increases strength and resistance. High in antioxidants vitamin B, E, calcium, magnesium, potassium and bioflavanoids.

Brown rice and quinoa are also good choices for bread, pasta and cereal.

Even better, eat more brown rice and quinoa!

Almost every single one of my clients come back after I suggest these replacements, so happy to be feeling better and way less bloated!
