Hola Amigos, Welcome to all of the new subscribers!

I am just back from a vacation in Mexico! Well needed R and R. I must admit I tend to work very hard and I am still learning to take more down time and rest more often. Being self employed I get to make my own hours, which means I can work 7 days a week. Getting away was a great way for me to completely disconnect and re-charge.

Think of yourself as a Cel phone

What happens if you don't re-charge your cel phone?

Right!

It dies!

So think of your self as a cel phone. The best way to keep your cel phone going is to re-charge it every day!

How can you do that? Here are some ideas from the book Shrink Yourself by Dr. Roger Gould. 

  • Practice deep, abdominal breathing.
  • Practice meditation.
  • Take a long bath or bubble bath.
  • Get a massage.
  • Use tension-releasing techniques.
  • Use biofeedback techniques, for example, becoming aware of which muscles are tense, make an effort to relax them. Be aware of your body’s responses when stressed to learn to control those responses.
  • Use aromatherapy.
  • Take a sauna or steam bath.
  • Practice visualization techniques, for example, take yourself on a visualization journey to your favorite place in the country, wherever you can enjoy deep peace and complete relaxation.
  • Listen to relaxation tapes.
  • Listen to soothing music.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Spend time with pets.
  • Spend time reading.
  • Just hang out and do nothing.
  • Go for a walk.
  • Watch a movie.
  • Take a nap.
  • Write in a journal or start a gratitude journal.
  • Draw, or do arts and crafts.
