One day in February, the group got this email from Chris:
Hi Everyone,
"I was so proud of myself today because I decided to take Bria out for a walk around the block while it was nice out. It should have been a 20 minute walk but it ended up being a 90 minute walk. Bria didn't want to come home so we ended up getting lost. I got plenty of
cardio.
The only bad part of it all was that I was so exhausted after walking through thick fluffy snow for an hour and a half that I must have made a mistake when I decided to cross Cavendish so we ended up in the middle of the street with cars tooting all around us. A man came and got us in the middle of the street and told me that we were nearly hit by a car.
I don't know if it was my mistake or Bria's or what but it was
very scary. I think I must have had an angel on my shoulder to protect me today and I thank God I did. Well, on the bright side, I guess I walked enough for 3 days worth of exercise. The worse part was that I had no ID on me and no iPhone. Won't do that again."
Chris and Bria
She admitted a few days later to having done some emotional eating after that experience! She had been knocked down by a car in the past and
suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain.
Towards the end of the class she emailed me saying she wasn't motivated to get out and walk so I suggested she get out and walk for Bria, that dogs needed to walk to be happy. And I told her to email me when she got back and tell me how far she went.
That worked, she said she was motivated to get out for Bria, and for quite a while after I received daily emails telling me how far she
walked.
