Welcome to all the New Subscribers!

I hope you have enjoyed your summer.... Vacation, BBQs with friends, parties, restaurant terrasses, a few extra drinks, it's hard to stay on track with healthy eating in the summer!

Have you gotten off track? Wondering how to lose the extra weight and stay motivated?

 It's a familiar scenario; you wake up in the morning filled with a renewed sense of determination. Today, you will stay on track, you will eat healthy, you will go for a walk and start losing those unwanted pounds.

You start off great with a healthy breakfast, bring along a big salad for lunch, but by 3 PM you can't take it any longer, you're starving and when a colleague puts out some brownies you gobble up 2. You feel horrible, you beat yourself up mentally and you ask your self why even bother trying. You pick up fast food on the way home feeling discouraged and depressed.

What can you do to stay on track?

You have to start with a strong "why," a really strong drive that will sustain you through the most difficult times.

What kind of pain is your current situation causing you and how will it feel when that pain is gone?

How do you want to Feel?

For myself that is key. When I choose healthy foods over unhealthy foods it is all about how I want to feel. I know that when I eat healthy, whole foods in their most natural state possible, I feel great, I have loads of energy all day every day, I am happy, I am balanced, I feel amazing and I believe I will stay healthy a very long time free from disease and pain.

Can you put a price tag on that? I don't think so.

  • the 12 basic yoga postures with many different variations

  • 5 minutes of deep relaxation at the beginning of each class, 10 minutes at the end, and short periods between the postures.

Carob Peanut Butter Balls
My vegetarian recipe this time is a simple desert that requires no baking, and is always a hit at pot-luck dinner parties. You could replace the carob with cocoa or the peanut butter with almond butter.

Carob Peanut Butter Balls

1/2 cup carob
1/2 cup natural peanut butter (substitute almond butter if peanut allergies are a concern)
1/2 cup honey- unpasteurized
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

Mix the carob, honey, peanut butter and sesame seeds together. Shape into small balls and roll in the coconut. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
